Data Centre Partitioning

Steel partitions that enhance security and maximise space in data centres, server rooms and other sensitive industrial workplaces.

Server Room Partitioning

Whether you’re looking to safeguard sensitive information or organise multiple servers, we deliver bespoke steel partitioning solutions tailored to suit your needs. From mesh partitions to racking, you can count on us to deliver industrial-level solutions with an end-to-end service.

What are Data Centre Partitions?

Partitions used in data centres are built from steel, creating robust barriers installed with the purpose of organising space and optimising layout, as well as increasing security and improving airflow management.

Data Centre Partitioning

Key Features

  • Security – Steel is a robust partitioning material that provides advanced security to data centres. On top of this, you may want to consider any additional features such as locking mechanisms to go with your steel partitioning door. These will help secure sensitive equipment or data you might be storing.
  • Airflow Management – Did you know your partitioning can help with airflow throughout your workplace? This is key if you’re looking to maintain a consistent cooling system and prevent overheating (and therefore avoid fire risks at work). If this is a concern you’re looking to address, we encourage you to get in touch with our team for more advice.
  • Flexibility – All modern businesses experience adaptation and growth. You may want to consider the future plans for your company to ensure you choose a flexible solution (such as modular steel partitions) that can meet the changing layout requirements your company might need.

Types of Server Room Partitions

At Steel Partitioning UK, we offer a range of partitions to suit the needs and preferences of the data centre.

Single skin partitioning is widely recognised as an affordable solution used for standard projects that don’t require any specialist properties. For many server rooms, these provide everything you need.

Technical Specification:

  • Steel panels measure 43mm thick as standard
  • Cold-rolled angles measure 43 x 43 x 1.2mm as standard (18g)
  • Cold-rolled T bars measure 32 x 32 x 0.7mm as standard (22g)
  • Different sizes and powder coatings available
  • Integrated glazed, half glazed, solid steel or mesh panels optional
  • Single skin door options include side hung and sliding doors

A step up in performance, we offer double skin steel partitions. This system is perfect for those wanting to improve current levels of privacy, perhaps if you work with sensitive information. The partitions are designed to minimise room-to-room sound transfer, preventing conversations from being overheard.

Technical Specification:

  • Steel panels measure 47mm thick as standard
  • Cold-rolled channels measure 25.4 x 42 x 25.4 x 1.2mm (18g)
  • Rockwool mineral fibre infill measures 30mm as standard
  • Different sizes and powder coatings available
  • Integrated glazed, half glazed, solid steel or mesh panels optional
  • Double skin door options include side hung and sliding doors

If airflow is a concern in your workplace, allow us to introduce you to our mesh partitioning. Using expanded metal mesh, these partition walls have an open design that offers visibility and good airflow management.

We also install secure enclosures (known as mesh cages) in high security areas or equipment storage. Just like our mesh walls, these offer visibility to equipment, whilst optimising airflow through the open mesh design.

Benefits of Data Centre Partitions

Steel partitions are trusted in highly sensitive server rooms for a number of reasons. With our help, your workplace could experience the following upgrades:

Security

Creating a physical barrier using steel walls can restrict access to sensitive areas within your data centre. For many businesses, this is a leading way to prevent unauthorised entry and safeguard critical infrastructure and data.

Airflow

If required, we can install a steel partition system to optimise airflow patterns within your data centre. This works to ensure efficient cooling of server racks and equipment to minimise the risk of overheating. If this is a concern for you, we ask you to get in touch with our team for more information.

Space Optimisation

With the help of our experts, you ensure that you’re making good use of all available space. Our team are always happy to help you design an optimised layout for organisation and workflow, with industrial partitioning that maximises usable floor space.

Flexibility

Our steel partitions have a modular design that offers flexibility for future reconfiguration or expansion. As your data centre evolves over time, this makes it easy to make the necessary adjustments to accommodate changes in equipment storage or capacity requirements.

Noise Reduction

Double skin steel partitions are designed to help mitigate loud noise levels, creating a quiet and comfortable environment for staff by reducing any distractions that may come from adjacent rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Compliance and Regulations

Compliancy should never be ignored. Especially in data centres where safety, data protection, security and efficiency within the facility are key to the day-to-day operations. With our help, you can ensure your new steel partitions adhere to the local building codes and standards for your business. For more information or advice on this, please get in touch with our team.

Our Process

Our team have years of industry experience, streamlining our unique knowledge and expertise into one seamless process:

1
Quote

Before you begin with your project, you’ll probably want to gather an idea of project costs. We offer free steel partitioning quotes, with prices that include material and labour charges. Rest assured that our experts are accurate, quick and precise, providing better cost certainty for your project.

2
Technical Survey

The next step is a site visit where we will conduct a technical site survey. This is an opportunity for us to discuss your project in more depth, as well as finalise costs. During this time, we’ll also take room measurements to ensure we supply your warehouse partitions in the correct quantities. We’ll also take note of any installation challenges such as high, exposed ceilings to avoid any costly hiccups later on.

3
Technical Drawing

Shortly after, you’ll receive a technical drawing of your warehouse partitions for approval. Our team won’t move on from this step until these have been completely signed off.

4
Installation

Finally, our team of fitters will arrange a date for installation. Rest assured in our years of experience will ensure your new warehouse space is delivered to a high standard. We’ll also leave your workspace clean and ready for occupation.
