Challenge

For this project, we were tasked with the challenge of creating a specialised room for laser cutting and welding. This type of industrial environment demands a robust partitioning system to ensure safety and durability within the dedicated area. The partition steel must also be strong to withstand the day-to-day operations that will take place within the room.

Solution

We selected single skin steel partitions that measured 4m in height. Our client opted for this industrial partition wall in a non-standard black colour to achieve a modern partition design and add a contemporary style to their workplace interiors. As part of the work required, a suspended ceiling also needed fitting. Our team has years of experience in the construction industry and was therefore able to complete this installation quickly and easily alongside the steel partition installation. We allowed for cut outs in the ceiling and walls for existing services for a seamless finish.

The steel partitioning system also included a large sliding door measuring 2.4m in height and 2m in width. The steel door was designed for ease of access, as well as security. The design and installation of this door ensured that it met all of the functional requirements of the welding workshop.

Single Skin Partitioning Key Features

• Custom Black Finish – Black was the perfect shade to meet our client’s modern design preferences. We delivered this customisation without compromising the strength and quality inherent in our standard steel partition systems. • Sliding Industrial Door – The large sliding door, measuring 2.4m high, provided easy access for personnel and equipment. This was pivotal for the operational needs of the laser-cutting room.
• Suspended Ceiling – The ceiling was designed to be self-supported, fitted with 600mm x 600mm ceiling tiles in a white tee grid. This design not only provided a clean and professional finish, contrasting with the black steel walls, but also contributed to the room’s acoustic performance.

The black steel industrial partitions created a modern design that excelled both in appearance and strength. The partitions are capable of withstanding the impact from any flying debris that may spark from laser cutting and welding works, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
